Profhilo Bio Remodelling

The skin is your largest organ, helping protect the body with its waterproof protective barrier. Most of us are very conscious of how external elements such as the sun, weather, and the environment can impact our skin, so it’s super important to take care of this marvellous organ. Still, before we dig into what Profhilo injections can do and what they are, Natural Beauty want to provide some fascinating details into how this wonder organ—your skin, works!

Skin Physiology

The skin comprises three primary layers: the epidermis, the dermis, and the subcutaneous layer. The epidermis provides this protective barrier against the environment and processes what we call cellular turnover. However, this cellular turnover naturally slows down as we age through prolonged exposure to environmental factors, causing signs of ageing and decreased collagen, resulting in skin strength and elasticity decreasing. When we’re younger, skin cells shed and replace every 28 days, but this process takes much longer after age 35 and beyond, resulting in grey, dull, tired skin. It’s why chemical peels are one of the perfect treatments, as you’re manually removing old skin cells to increase cell turnover.

The second layer of the skin is called the dermis level, which connects to the epidermis and comprises two layers. The first delivers nutrients to the upper epidermis level, while the second layer contains the collagen and elastin we’re all familiar with, providing the skin with its structure.

Skin Ageing

We tend to notice skin ageing as we get older for obvious reasons. At first, we start seeing fine lines and wrinkles and a loss of skin firmness and elasticity. Sun damage and pigmentation may also become noticeable, making the skin thinner and more fragile. And with perimenopause and menopause to add to the boot, with women naturally producing less oil after this period, our skin also becomes drier, adding to the problem and causing wrinkles to be more visible.

Ageing happens through genetic makeup, nutrition and environmental factors. It isn’t something we can stop, but we can certainly slow it down by protecting our skin from harmful UV rays, eating healthy and cutting out bad habits such as smoking and consuming alcohol. And with more advanced beauty treatments like Profhilo, available through salons such as Natural Beauty, we can certainly give skin ageing a run for its money!

Profhilo Injectibles: Bio-Remodelling 5 Point Facelift

The brand Profhilo may not be familiar to many of us. However, most of us will have used beauty products containing hyaluronic acid or certainly heard of this incredible super-hydrating ingredient that can bind and hold up to 1000 times its weight in water or moisture, which is precisely what ageing skin needs. And it’s this super ingredient which forms the main compound of our new targeted Profhilo treatment, which addresses skin laxity and fine lines and wrinkles. The 100% hyaluronic acid nourishes dermal cells, restoring the skin’s firmness and effectively hydrating your skin from the inside to reveal fresh, younger-looking, plumper skin. For skin laxity, Profhilo uses patented technologies to curl wrinkles rather than fill them, effectively stimulating the body’s natural creation of elastin and collagen to renew your skin with visible improvements seen in just two sessions at one-month intervals.

Why Hyaluronic Acid?

Whilst our bodies naturally produce hyaluronic acid, we create less and less as we age, making topping up with Profhilo injections a sensible and obvious choice to keep the skin hydrated and plump. Indeed, hyaluronic acid Profhilo injections can help:

  •  Increase skin’s firmness and elasticity
  •  Tighten and lift the skin
  •  Improve skin tone and texture
  •  Rehydrate and plump the skin
  •  Restore radiance

Profhilo Injectibles v Dermal Fillers

Whilst the majority of dermal fillers are made from hyaluronic acid, Profhilo is not a dermal filler but rather a new injectable that comes under the category called Bio-Remodelling. The molecule chains of high and low molecular weight hyaluronic acid are thermally stabilised and fused together to create a unique patented co-operative hybrid complex, forming a gel that spreads and becomes integrated into the skin, providing hydration, especially to the epidermis. Profhilo is BDDE-free with one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid on the market (64 mg/2ml). As a result, Profhilo doesn’t just hydrate and boost the skin; it remodels the ageing and sagging tissue.

The Profhilo Treatment

Profhilo is a two-step process that has been carefully designed and clinically tested for maximum efficiency and comfort. It’s delivered through ten injection points across the widest sections of the face through sub-dermal patterns for maximum, even results. As a result, Profhilo’s innovative method (known as the BAP technique) has a much-reduced risk of bruising, redness and irritation than other injection treatments, delivering a natural all-over firmness, elasticity and brightness through deep hydration. And it isn’t just a treatment for more familiar areas such as the face, neck, and hands but is also perfect for the upper arms, abdomen, and knees!

The Profhilo treatment is provided in two sessions with a four-week interval, with a third optional treatment after an additional eight weeks. It’s recommended that maintenance of the treatment can be provided every six months as required. And, Profhilo doesn’t interfere with other treatments, so you can still combine this new innovative therapy alongside LED, Dermaplaning, Injectable skin boosters and anti-wrinkle injections. So, if we’ve piqued your interest and you’d like to find out more about this new Bio-Remodelling treatment just get in touch with us at The Natural Beauty Salon.
